We are currently looking at possible options to the standard pine jambs that we use in America. I would like to know what you would think will be an acceptable alternative. We have to keep all the same properties as the pine jambs that are the normal choice in America but does not have some of the issues that pine does. Our company does custom millwork applications; warehousing and distribution for finish trim carpentry. We inventory and pre-hang doors for builders, manufactured housing and private contractors so we have a wide customer base. We currently buy in raw 11/16" thick 4 9/16" wide and 84" long flat jambs in Radiata Pine with no dado on the end. This gives us the flexibility to customize to customers?length request and meet their needs exactly. Where we run into issues is when the customer requests a pre-finished jamb. We have a pre-finish line that will vacuum coat primer or paint onto the jamb and an oven that will dry the finish. Once the primer or paint has been applied certain jambs will have grain raise issues that our customers will not accept. These jambs are considered defective and discarded. We are looking at volume of 5,400 pair a month with the possibility of more with current business projections. I would like to entertain your ideas and possible solutions in the form of a quote and samples. I would like to move on this as soon as possible and looking forward to your response. Thanks for your help.
