Technical Specification of Silicon Electrical Steel Sheet
1.1 GRADE: -M-5 or its equivalent. 1.2 SIZE a) Thickness with insulation coating = 0.30 +0.01 mm./- 0.03 mm. b) Width = 375 + 1 mm. c) Length -In conformity with weight of the coil. d) Deviation in thickness in crosswise direction = 0.03 mm (maximum).
02. SURFACE COA TING:
a) AISI C-5 or its equivalent any other inorganic insulation substance. b) Should be firmly bonded on to mother sheet that it never peels off due to cutting, punching, bending or similar operations. c) Should be highly resistant to rust & highly corrosion resistant to mineral Transformer Oil, should be heat resistant up to about 850° C in non-oxidizing atmosphere, should have good weldability and high inter laminar resistance. d) Thickness should not be more than 4 microns on each side. 03. Lamination factor = Minimum 96% at pressure of4 kg/cm2. 04. Maximum core .loss of the Cold Rolled Grain Oriented Silicon (Electrical) Steel Sheet should be at 1.7 Tesla & at 50 Hz = 1.29 watt/kg. 05. Minimum induction at 800 A/M = 1.83 Tesla.
06. Resistivity (in longitudinal to the rolling direction) = 48x10-8 ohm.M.
07. TYPICAL MECHANICAL PROPERTIES: --
a) Tensile strength: i) Longitudinal to the rolling direction = 343 N/mm2 ii) Transverse to the rolling direction = 382 N/mm2
b) Yield point: . i) Longitudinal to the rollirng direction = 324 N/mm2 ii) Transverse to the rolling direction = 343 N/mm2
c) Elongation: i) Longitudinal to the rolling direction = 10% ii) Transverse to the rolling direction = 33%
d) Hardness: = 177 HV. e) Bending Test Value: i) Longitudinal to the rolling direction = 24 ii) Transverse to the rolling direction = 2 I
08. Recommended annealing temperature = 780°C to 820°C for 2 (two) hours.
09. APPEARANCE :
a) Sheets should be tree from rust, cracks and other harmful defects. Insulation film .i should bc well adhering. : b) Sheets should be tree from coil set, edge ripple and through which would cause hindrance to make iron core. c) Cutting burr of steel should be less than 0.05 mm
10. PACKING a) Inside coil diameter = 500 to 510 mm b) Weight of coil (Gross) = 2.5 to 3.0 M.Tons (max.). c) Should be vertical axis type. d) Should be sea- worthy export packing with:
i) Paper covering. ii) Polythene bag. iii) Full outside protection with galvanized sheet. iv) Wooden pallet. v) Secured by metal strapping. ,
e) Coils should be packed in such a way that it should not be deformed nor deteriorated during transit and in handling. f) The materials to be stuffed preferably in top-open container. g) In case of shipment in 20' and 40' FCL Container the maximum gross weight of container should not exceed 24,000 kgs & 30,480 kgs. respectively. For exceeding gross weight of container, additional expenses/ charges imposed by concerned authority shall have to bear by the supplier/Local agent.
h) In case of shipment in 20' and 40' FCL Container the maximum gross weight of each coil/bundle/package/pallet/box should not exceed 3000 kgs. For exceeding gross weight of coil/bundle/package/pallet/box, additional expenses/ charges imposed by concerned authority shall have to bear by the supplier/Local agent.
